Two planes almost COLLIDE mid-flight after aircraft accidentally FLEW parallel to another
 

The “serious” near miss occurred over Bulgaria as the two planes flew towards the Turkish capital.
An Atlasjet plane was told by air traffic controllers to descend.
But the pilots supposedly initiated a climb instead.
As a result of the error, the plane was flying parallel to a Turkish Airline aircraft, which was only 1.4 miles away.
According to the Aviation Herald, the Atlasjet had been flying from Zurich to Istanbul on flight KK-6112.
It was about 161 miles south east of Sofia and 150 miles from Istanbul at the time of the incident.
