Two jailed as police step up action to tackle town's crimewave



Police have stepped up patrols and arrested a number of suspects during an operation to tackle a series of burglaries and thefts in a county town.
The Leicester Mercury reported earlier this week that Leicestershire Police had recorded at least 21 burglaries or thefts from businesses and shops in Market Harborough in the past month.
A further five crimes have been reported to police since the story appeared on Monday, the town's MP has said.
The town's senior police officer said this week that patrols have been increased and gave details of arrests made so far.
