Turkey orders detention of 166 people in coup-related operation - media

Turkish authorities issued detention warrants on Friday for 166 people, including police chiefs, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported, in an operation linked to July's attempted coup, which Ankara blames on followers of U.S.-based cleric Fethullah Gulen.
The operation was aimed at Istanbul police headquarters staff but spread across 35 provinces, targeting people who used a smartphone messaging app known as ByLock, Anadolu said. Gulen denies involvement in the July 15 failed putsch.
