Turkey: Huge blast kills 18 at south-east checkpoint



TURKISH authorities blamed the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) for a car bomb attack that killed 10 soldiers and eight civilians yesterday.
The attack hit a security checkpoint in south-eastern Hakkari province 12 miles from the town of Semdinli.
Gunmen first opened fire before driving up a minivan containing about five tons of explosives and detonating it.
