Traffic lights stay as A66 roadworks in Cumbria overrun
 

Temporary traffic lights will be in place on a major Cumbrian road until at least next week after roadworks overran.
Flood resilience work on the A66 at Thornthwaite were due to be completed by the end of July.
A Highways England spokesman today confirmed that daytime traffic lights would remain in place until some time next week while finishing work is completed on the road.
Later, lights will be required for a day while work is carried out to complete and reopen a layby on the road.
The £1.5 million scheme to improve flood resilience around Bassenthwaite Lake began in September.
