Town centre builders sacked after making horrible comments to passers-by near Wheatsheaf gastropub



A number of builders converting a town centre pub into a top restaurant have been sacked - after complaints about them making 'horrible comments' to passers-by.
They were working on the transformation of The Wheatsheaf, in Sandbach, when the complaints were made on Wednesday.
The Hightown building is currently being renovated after being snapped up by the owners of Congleton's Pecks Restaurant who are planning to reopen the venue as a gastro-pub.
Twenty new jobs are being created as part of the £500,000 refurbishment - with the new-look venue due to open before Christmas.
