Tourist forced to put his military career on hold after catching serious parasitic infection at 'filthy' Cyprus resort

A birthday holiday abroad turned into the trip from hell when a family of five suffered severe illness after catching a serious parasitic infection.
Steven Gorniak was so sick as a result of the disease caught at a 'filthy' Cyprus resort that he has been forced to put his army career on hold.    
Gorniak, 30, who was in the middle of his military training, was celebrating his mother's birthday abroad with his family.
All five family members suffered severe illness during the trip to the Crown Resorts Horizon Hotel in Paphos - but Gorniak was by far the worst affected.
