The North East has a long history of organised crime - but how does it stand today?
Northumbria Police’s head of crime, detective chief superintendant Lisa Orchard warned that today’s crooks have evolved.
In the past organised criminals tended to be local but the modern villains often cross regional – and even national – borders.
