Murdy stepped in as cover when Great Britain No.1 Ben Bowns had to be replaced after two periods of Saturday night’s Challenge Cup against Sheffield.
And he was handed his first top-flight start for four years on Sunday when Bowns was ruled out and went on to star in the Devils’ 5-2 away win.
