Toddler found dead was 'victim of "extreme violence" at the hands of his mother's boyfriend'



A toddler died at home after being subjected to “extreme violence” by his mother’s boyfriend, a jury heard.
Paramedics found a harrowing scene at the family’s home in Woodville Road, Birkenhead, after Craig Smith called 999 and claimed two-year-old Teddy Tilston had drowned in the bath – despite him being completely dry.
While Teddy was dying, his twin sister Cassidy was also being treated in Arrowe Park Hospital after suffering a head injury, which prosecutors suggest was also caused by an assault by Smith.
