Tiny dog Benjamin dies after hit-and-run in Nottingham Road, Chaddesden
 

A much-loved tiny dog which was left in a "critical condition" after being involved in a hit-and-run in Derby has now died.
Devastated Valerie Stolyarova said she took Benjamin to a veterinary practice in Derby after he managed to squeeze through her legs and run out on to the street in Chaddesden, where he was hit by the car.
The 22-year-old waitress said Benjamin was struck by the dark-coloured car who she claimed: "did not slow down or even stop to help" as the Russian Toy Terrier lay on the ground.
