Thug who assaulted two cops while being arrested 'is an example of what police face every day'
 

Police welcomed the sentencing of a drunken thug who assaulted two police officers.
Zigmantis Svelnys, 58, was jailed for 42 weeks yesterday after being convicted of assaulting PC Paul Pearson and his colleague, PC Neil Green, during a call-out on Sunday July 3 this year.
The court heard the officers were called to Svelnys’ address in Denecliff, Stockbridge Village , after reports of a male threatening to kill himself with a knife.
