IT RELAUNCHED last year after a considerable break, bringing with it £18 million of additional sales. But what of Seafood Week before the seven-year sabbatical?
For Grimsby, 2002 will live long in the memory of many, thanks completely to the town's former MP Austin Mitchell. Working with bosses at seafood giant Young's, he changed his name as the promotional period for his constituency's great export coincided with that year's Labour Party conference.
Catching the nation's attention, it generated more publicity than some of the party policies churned out by Tony Blair in Blackpool.
