Three Merseyside motorways have been named among the UK’s slowest.
New data studied networks to showcase the nation’s average motorway speeds, with many dropping to around 40 mph.
The average speed on the M57 is well below the 70mph limit.
Drivers found themselves travelling at an average speed of 41.7mph.
Motorists on the Wirral also found themselves driving below the limit, with the average speed on the M53 at 44.8mph.
Worst of all, the average speed on the M62 - which connects Liverpool to Manchester, Leeds and Hull - was 39.8mph.
