Three Merseyrail strikes this weekend WILL go ahead after crunch talks break down



Merseyrail strikes planned for tomorrow, Sunday and Monday WILL go ahead - after last ditch talks broke down.
Staff will stage the three 24-hour walkouts as planned after high level talks involving Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram and Rail and Maritime Transport Workers union (RMT) general secretary Mick Cash ended without a resolution.
These will be the latest strikes in an increasingly bitter and drawn out row over the planned removal of on-board train guards when a new fleet of trains arrives in 2020.
