Thousands of passengers are grounded after Tui cancels over 100 flights in one day due to 'staff calling in sick'



German airline Tui fly was forced to cancel over 100 flights on Friday due to a staff shortages.
Many of the airline's crew and pilots were said to have called in sick at short notice, leaving the flights unstaffed. 
The flights affected were all departing from or travelling to Germany, including several domestic flights.
Tui fly, which belongs to tour operator Tui, said on Thursday that 108 flights would be cancelled, 54 each to and from Germany.
