Thousands more people in work on Merseyside despite the Brexit vote
 

Thousands more people are in work on Merseyside than a year ago, despite the Brexit vote.
Unemployment has dropped in every borough in the region since September 2015, official figures show.
The falling number of people claiming jobseekers’ allowance (JSA) or universal credit marks positive news for local workers, businesses and taxpayers.
The JSA total continued to fall locally after Britain’s historic vote to leave the European Union in June, which some feared would immediately knock the economy off the rails.
