This is your chance to help design the new fleet of Metro carriages

Ever wished Metro carriages had a better lay out to beat the morning rush?
Nexus, which owns the Metro network, is urging passengers to get involved in a new project which will help shape how new rolling stock on the network is laid out.
The firm is submitting a bid to the Department for Transport to help buy the trains – some of which have been in use since the line was created.
Newcastle University’s Open Lab will be out and about speaking to the public in a bid to help shape the new carriages with the feedback passed to potential designers for the new fleet which should be up and running... read more
