Third drink drive conviction in three years - but civil servant spared jail
 

A civil servant has been spared prison despite racking up a hat-trick of drink drive offences in as many years.
Alcoholic Anthony Robertson was convicted in 2014, 2015 and now 2016 of drink driving.
Teesside Magistrates’ Court heard that until recently he’d been downing a bottle of vodka a day.
And the 36-year-old feared his boozing would not only cost him his £24,000-a-year job but also his liberty after flouting yet another driving ban.
After his second conviction last year, he was handed a 42-month road ban.
