Third anniversary of detention in India is spent in jail for Merseyside man
 

A Merseyside man detained in India on gun-running charges has spent the third anniversary of his arrest in jail.
Ex-soldier Paul Towers, from Bootle , was head of security on board the anti-piracy vessel the Seaman Guard Ohio.
Mr Towers, who is in his early 50s, was one of six British ex-servicemen on board the vessel which had a total crew of 35 men of various nationalities.
All were detained by the Indian authorities in October 2013. After being cleared of weapons charges following one trial, the men were found guilty after a re-trial and handed five-year jail terms in January this year.... read more
