Thieves labelled 'scum' after carpenter has £9,000 tools stolen
 

Police are hunting thieves who broke into a van and stole power tools worth £9,000, leaving a carpenter unable to work.
Peter Mason, 35, a carpenter who owns PDM Carpentry and Joinery, left his tools secure in his van in Stanton Road, Burton, when he went to bed, but when he came down at 6am the following day he found it was empty.
This is the latest in a spate of thefts from vans left secure by their owners, and Mr Mason said that 'these criminals are ruining people's livelihoods'.
