They've done it! Volunteers break the record for the number of teddies in one place



VOLUNTEERS have managed to break the world record for the number of teddies in one place today (Thursday, October 6).
The team behind the Operation Christmas Child project at St Mary's Church in Barton managed to reach 16,099 teddies.
What began as a small group knitting teddy bears to go in Christmas shoeboxes for needy children across the world has resulted in a world-record breaking number of bears.
The Operation Christmas Child group already broke the previous record of 15,534 bears. The bears were officially counted by the Guinness World Records today at Baysgarth Leisure Centre.
