Theresa May: We need school reform because too many West Midlands schools are failing
 

Prime Minister Theresa May warned that too many West Midlands children are in under-performing schools, as she defended plans to open new grammar schools across the country.
She said the failure or some schools to provide a high-quality education demonstrated why she was right to make changes.
But speaking to the Birmingham Mail, Mrs May insisted there was far more to her reforms than simply expanding selective education.
She wanted to raise standards in every state school - and would bring in universities and independent schools to help, she said.
