THERESA May has made an brazen grab for the centre ground of British politics as Tory ministers recoiled from a furious backlash against their migrant-bashing rants.
The new Prime Minister yesterday tried to re-invent the Conservatives as the comforting friend of “ordinary working-class people” while ignoring that she had sat in the UK Cabinet that for six years has divided the nation and created Austerity Britain.
