Town hall bosses have demanded the Prime Minister visit Manchester - so she can see for herself the effect of government funding cuts.
We revealed earlier this week how a further £60m needs to be found in order for the town hall to balance its books by 2020.
Although some income will increase over that time - including money from business rates - the increased number of people relying on social care in particular, coupled with a halving of the main government council grant, has led the authority to draw up a brutal list of suggested savings.
