But the bar is low for him and the truth is conference speeches while you’re in opposition are a walk on easy street.
You can promise the earth. Lib Dem leaders do it all the time and they’re not getting anywhere near power.
SNP leaders do it all the time, even when they are in power, because they have the get-out of the world not being as they would order it when their promises come up short.
