Theresa May yesterday claimed she had the “full support” of her Cabinet ahead of a crunch weekend for her crisis-hit leadership.
A coup attempt orchestrated by a former party chairman appeared to fizzle out amid a furious backlash by Tory MPs.
The PM tried to brush off warnings over her future, insisting: “Now what the country needs is calm leadership, and that’s exactly what I am providing with the full support of my Cabinet.”
