People from the North East are stuck near the eye of powerful Hurricane Matthew as it sweeps through the Atlantic.
A North Shields couple are trapped and terrified in a Cuban hotel as the powerful hurricane approaches.
And a Northumberland man has been left floating aboard a cruise ship which is unable to dock, after it fled its moorings in the Bahamas ahead of the tempest.
Milton Stonebanks and his partner Belinda, a freelance photograph and a shop worker from North Shields, had been enjoying a dream holiday in Holguín, Cuba, before they heard news of the approaching hurricane.
