The 'Tesla of speedboats': $150,000 electric 40 knot hydrofoil travels 50 miles on one charge - but you need an invitation to get one



A Dutch company has created a new type of electric yacht dubbed the 'Tesla of speedboats.'
Edorado Marine's 7S boat will have an all-electric system that allows users to travel 50 miles (80km) on a single charge. 
While the company claims that the boats are more cost-effective, they will set you back £121,222 ($150,000), and an invitation is needed to pre-order one.
WHAT ARE HYDROFOILS?  Hydrofoils are wing-like blades that usually sit underneath a boat's hull. 
They cut through the water as the boat speeds up, creating an uplift – similar to the aerofoils used on aeroplanes.
