The rich really DO ignore the poor: Researchers find wealthy people tend to overlook those around them

Rich people are more likely to perceive the individuals around them as irrelevant, often spending little time looking at others because they are not ‘worth attending to.’
This is according to a new study, in which researchers analyzed how spontaneous perception of others differs between social classes.
While people of less privileged backgrounds were found to pay closer attention to passersby on the street and even faces in images, the opposite was true for wealthier participants, suggesting they overlook those seen as having little to offer.
