In the future could the descendants of Jimmy Nail sound like Jamie Oliver?
The thought might leave Geordies speechless but that is the prediction of two language experts.
They say the distinctive Geordie timbre is on the way out and by 2066 - would you Adam and Eve it? - will sound like a southern accent.
The claims come in a report written by University of York professor Dr Dominic Watt and speech coach Dr Brendan Gunn.
