Ostensibly, director Andrew Rossi’s documentary charts the creation of China: Through the Looking Glass, the most popular art/fashion exhibition ever at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
But the film emerges as a pretentious celebration of the famous, wannabes and the wealthy without which the show would never have existed.
