The fastest car in the world is now officially the Koenigsegg Agera RS

With a top speed average of 278mph, this is officially the fastest car in the world.
The Koenigsegg Agera RS has just broken the world record for the fastest ever road-legal car.
Niklas Lilja was behind the wheel when the car reached the speed on a public road in Nevada, which had been closed for the attempt.
The Swedish hypercar comfortably beat the 268mph record set by the Bugatti Veyron SuperSport in 2010.
Video released by Racelogic, which recorded the speed, shows the Koenigsegg appearing to cruise up to 200mph before Lilja unleashes the car’s full potential.
