It's the former shopping centre “associated with failure” - and now it’s biting the dust.
Demolition of the former Jacksons Landing factory shopping mall in Hartlepool marina is under way.
Hartlepool Council is clearing the waterfront site to facilitate the creation of a landmark destination that will complement the recently-launched National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool.
And as our video shows, its rundown, ramshackle and vandalised state, just before the bulldozers move in to flatten it for good, is in stark contrast to the high hopes for it when it opened in December 1994.... read more
