The Brummie cake lady who wants to replace Mary Berry on the new Great British Bake Off

SHE has been shortlisted for a Brummies award – and now star baker Kath Ryan has got her sights set on becoming the new judge on the Great British Bake Off.
The Hall Green “cake lady” has been selflessly baking delights for injured and sick troops at a Birmingham hospital for seven years, earning her a nomination for Volunteer of the Year.
She first set foot in Selly Oak Hospital’s military ward in August 2009 with a trolley full of cakes and has been going ever since.
She estimates she has made 168,000 cakes over the years.
