The black moon rises and some think it's the end of the world

It's what some think is a sign of the apocalypse when we will all enter a world of darkness and despair.
Fortunately, scientists disagree.
On Friday, a rare Black Moon will occur. So here's what we know about the Black Moon as it returns for the first time in more than two years.

What is it? The Black Moon is a rare event. It occurs when the illuminated side of the moon is caught in the shadow of the Earth, making it virtually impossible to see. The last time there was a Black Moon over the UK was in March 2014.
