“Thanks for saving my life”
An eight-year-old schoolboy got the chance to thank the air ambulance crew that saved his life after he was hit by a car.
James Bainbridge was riding his scooter across the street near his home in North Shields when he was knocked over by a car on August 21, leaving him with a fractured skull, collapsed lung and lacerated liver.
When Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) arrived at the scene, an on-board doctor and paramedic team put the young boy in a medically-induced coma and flew him to the Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary within six minutes.
