Texting driver given four day prison sentence for killing school bus driver
 

A driver who was texting as she drove into and killed an elderly man has been jailed for just four days.
Susan Ann Russo, a teacher, was spared a long sentence even though reading or sending texts while driving is illegal in Minnesota.
Thousands join sprinter Tyson Gay for vigil to honour daughter Trinity School bus driver Joseph Tikalsky, 79, died after he was struck by Russo’s car while collecting the morning newspaper, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.
Sentencing Russo, judge Mark Vandelist said he hoped she could become a force for change for distracted driving.
