Tesco fined £500k after worker plunged 30 feet through roof at Wallasey store
 

Supermarket giant Tesco has been fined half a million pounds after a workman plunged 30 feet through a skylight roof in Liscard.
Andrew Burgess miraculously did not break a single bone and walked away with cuts, bruises and some muscle damage.
He was off work for a number of weeks during which he had physiotherapy and was able to return to work.
His employer Tesco Maintenance Ltd was today fined £300,000 alongside Tesco Stores Ltd which was fined £200,000. They have to jointly pay £9,379 prosecution costs.
