Tesco apologises over 'Jimmy Savile' marmalade



Supermarket bosses have apologised after a home delivery customer received a jar of marmalade altered to read "Jimmy Savile" on the label. Kate Shepherd, owner of Whisky River in Durham City, was perplexed to be sent a 12oz jar of Mackays seville orange marmalade with the "E" replaced by an "A" in seville to read SAVILLE, with "Jimmy" scrawled above.
The conserve vandal neglected, however, to scratch out one of the "L"s to correctly spell the former TV personality, whose name is now synonymous with a horrific sex abuse scandal.
