Temperatures set to rise in brisk gales banishing snow and gales

Britain looks set to finally get a respite from the prolonged Arctic blast.
But gale force winds ​and snow ​will batter parts of the country before it begins to feel less cold.
The mercury will start to climb by midweek with temperatures nearing double figures as winds veer towards the south-west taking the edge from the near-zero chill of recent days.
But there is still some bitter weather ahead before values move upwards.
