Teenager who smuggled drugs and phones into HMP Northumberland walks free
 

A teenager caught smuggling drugs and mobile phones into prison has walked free despite being told that custody usually follows in such cases as a deterrent.
Kelsey Potts was visiting an inmate at HMP Northumberland when she was spotted handing over banned items.
When the man she was visiting was searched, he was found to have been given up to 40 buprenorphine tablets and two phones.
Potts, who claimed the pills were just sweets, was arrested and later admitted taking the banned items into the jail.
