Teenage shooting victim is 'awake and stable' following fears for his life
 

The 15-year-old boy who was shot in the head Sunderland last week is now awake and in a stable condition, police have revealed.
The teenager was allegedly hit while riding as a passenger on the back of a motorbike in Hewitt Avenue, Ryhope last-Wednesday evening.
He was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle following the incident, where he was described as being in a critical condition.
