Team Sky's Ian Stannard among large group of riders disqualified from Belgian race the Scheldeprijs for cycling under closing level crossing

Team Sky's Ian Stannard was one of a number of riders disqualified from the Scheldeprijs on Wednesday after cycling under a closing railway crossing.
Footage posted on social media showed Stannard and other members of the second peloton ignoring a closing barrier in Krabbendijke, Belgium.
The riders were subsequently caught up by race commissaries on motorbikes and disqualified.
Union Cycliste Internationalen (UCI) race rules dictate that cyclists must stop at a railway crossing before it closes.
