Teacher who posed as Newcastle teen to trick girls into explicit conversations banned for life
A teacher who posed as a 17-year-old to trick teenage girls into sharing explicit online conversations has been banned from the classroom for life.
Paul Gibson, 47, used Skype to tell girls he believed to be 16 and 17 that he was a 17-year-old boy from Newcastle, a National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) misconduct panel heard.
Gibson was working at St. Hild’s Church of England School, in Hartlepool, when he asked the teenagers sexual questions, convincing the unsuspecting girls he was their age by sending messages suggesting he was waiting for his parents to get home.
