Support grows for police anti-knife crime campaign



Political figures have lent their weight to a Leicestershire Police campaign to tackle knife crime.
City mayor Sir Peter Soulsby and police and crime commissioner Lord Willy Bach spoke today in support of the force's Lives Not Knives campaign.
The force launched the initiative on Monday with a promise to track down those who carry knives in public.
It follows a spate of stabbings in Leicester, which has caused widespread public concern. Investigations into at least five stabbings were launched last month alone.
