'Supermoon' casts its glow across the globe and 2016 will end with two more in radiant finale
 

The first of three 'supermoons' cast a glow across the globe on Sunday and two more will do so again in November and December to send off 2016 in stellar style.
If you observed the night sky on Sunday, a full supermoon looming and lighting the planet was hard to miss.
But if you didn't see it, you'll have two more chances to catch it by the time the year is out.
Earth will experience one more supermoon in December as well as an 'extra-supermoon' in November. 
Supermoons occur when the moon is within its 90 per cent closest range of Earth, according to NASA.
