Sunderland set to fork out £10m to Inter Milan for flop Ricardo Alvarez
 

The midfielder played just 11 games for the Black Cats during an ill-fated loan spell from Inter Milan two seasons ago. But the club are resigned to a Court of Arbitration ruling in the Serie A giant’s favour in a dispute over Alvarez’ transfer deal.
Inter claim Sunderland, who recruited Alvarez when Gus Poyet was in charge, were committed to signing him on a permanent basis if they avoided relegation that season.
