Sunderland man punched and kicked in the face during attack by three men

A man was punched and kicked in the face by three men during an unprovoked attack in Sunderland.
The 22-year-old was walking home in the early hours when he was jumped by the gang of unknown men who punched him to the floor and kicked him in the face, leaving him needing hospital treatment.
The victim of the assault was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital after the attack, which happened on Beatty Avenue in Town End Farm between 3am and 3.30am, on Saturday, August 27, and police are now appealing for witnesses.
