Students urged to get MMR vaccine in wake of measles outbreak centred on Edinburgh University
 

DOCTORS are urging students in the capital to make sure they have had the MMR vaccine after a measles outbreak centred on Edinburgh University.
Nine cases have been reported in the past two weeks in the city.
Special campus clinics have been set up to offer the MMR vaccine to protect students against the virus.
Dr Duncan McCormick, chair of the Incident Management Team and consultant in Public Health Medicine at NHS Lothian, said: “We are getting in touch with people who have been in contact with the confirmed cases and are setting up clinics for those requiring an MMR vaccine.
